Kelly has a passion for helping others and strives to positively impact their lives.

Meet Kelly

I am a bilingual and bicultural therapist working with individuals and couples experiencing challenges in communication and connection with others. In therapy, I provide a welcoming and non-judgmental space for clients to process their struggles. I support clients in working towards healing from past wounds and living authentically in the present. I believe it takes courage and vulnerability to be our true selves, and I provide comfort and support so that clients may stand in their truth and live in a way that feels fulfilling. Clients have described my presence in the counseling room as calm and grounding, which facilitates sharing the most vulnerable parts of themselves.

I believe in the ability of individuals and couples to change. Change is difficult, but with the right tools and support, it is possible.

My COUNSELING METHOD

I am relational in the way I approach my clients, and I consider the therapeutic relationship to be one of the most meaningful relationships that exists.

The therapy I provide is evidence-based and informed by neuroscience, Relational Life Therapy, and feminist psychology. Neuroscience is the study of the brain, and using this in therapy helps clients understand how they act and react in relationships. This can normalize clients’ experiences and help them move away from certain maladaptive behaviors.

Relational Life Therapy is a model developed by Terry Real in which the therapist has the role of a coach and co-traveler and provides healing by equipping clients to live relationally. Feminist psychology is a way of understanding individuals and relationships by how they have been informed by socially constructed concepts of gender and power differences.
